Did I phrase that title backward? On Saturday night, we will all find out. The ESPN/ABC family of networks got it right this week when they slotted the Cornhuskers Big10 debut live from Madison in prime time. It is #8 Nebraska @ #7 Wisconsin 8 ET. This game has tickled the fancies of hundreds of thousands of red-blooded fans(pun completely intended) ever since the 2011 schedule became public.

The Huskers have played in a fair share of “are they back?” games in recent years, and for the most part I’d say the answer to those games has been “almost.” A return to National Championship status has been the number one goal of Coach Bo Pelini and they are knocking on the door. Nebraska has come a long way from the supposed statement to the nation game against USC in 2007, a statement that backfired and left a national tv audience knowing that Nebraska was clearly not back and not really close to it either. Now, in their first Big10 game, Nebraska faces the same old question “are they back?” The challenge is very stiff, the College Gameday crew will be on hand, and oh yeah, Under Coach Brad Bielema, the Badgers are 45-4 at Camp Randall dating back to 2004.

One can only hope that the Black Shirts don’t turn into the “Black Skirts” under the bright lights of Camp Randall stadium; especially when the Badger faithful begin to “Jump Around” during their 4th quarter ritual:

Both teams come into the game unscathed, although not really tested (no disrespect to the Chattanooga, Fresno, Wyoming, South Dakota, UNLV, or NIU). Wisconsin rolled through Oregon State and Nebraska put up stupid numbers against Washington. The tale of the tape will come down to the quarterback play of two incredibly gifted athletes in Taylor Martinez and Russell Wilson. Are the Huskers back? We’ll see Saturday night.

I thought Nebraska had a chance in this game, until I watched that Video of Wisconsin jumping around! I don’t see anyone going in to Wisconsin and winning as long as they do this house of pain ritual. Good luck Corn Huskers, but I dont see it going your way this year. Your not there yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe next year.
