Well, the Ole’ Ball Coach is at it again…. He has apparently ruffled Clemson’s head coach Dabo Swinney with comments he made in a post game interview. Steve Spurrier, The University of South Carolina head coach, always known for taking subtle jabs, apparently threw one Clemson’s way after Carolina beat Clemson for the third consecutive year. Spurrier remarked that “We ain’t LSU or Alabama, but we ain’t Clemson either.”

Below you can see Dabo’s reaction, which is certainly entertaining. I don’t know about you, but I am already counting down the days until next year’s game. It should be fun……

The thing is Spurrier did not say that. Todd Ellis said it. Dabo just took what some reporter told him and believed it without checking his facts. The sad part is all Clemson can talk about is an ACC title that they won before almost any player on this team was born. I do believe that teams should be proud of thier past accomplishments, but that does not make them great teams now. If that was true then Army or Navy would be power houses. They have one more national titles than Clemson, and did not get caught cheating to do it. It really only matters what the current players and coaches have done since being at whatever school they are at. I think the whole thing made Dabo look like a whiny child. JMO!

The reporters that asked Dabo the question quoted Spurrier & it sounded like a Spurrier comment; they could have it wrong, not sure. I would agree with you though, it’s more what have you done for me lately.
