Boise Makes Noise in Draft

The fact that Alabama boasted the most draft picks in the first round and the most overall (8) should surprise no one.  Georgia and Oklahoma were tied with seven  each to share the number two spot in this battle for bragging rights.  What may stun some is that, among six total schools with six draft picks each was the Boise State Broncos, a fact that should not be readily scoffed at.

This is a statement that NFL teams consider the talent level on the 2011 Boise State squad to be on par with the elite teams and conferences in all the land.  Sure, they’ve carved out a nice niche in scheduling one heavyweight on the road (and generally winning), only to then have the luxury of settling back into a conference schedule that fails to impress most observers, but this is impressive no matter how you slice it.
